Which Kids’ Yoga Programme Is Best for Your Child? (ELC vs Primary vs Private)

Start with your goal

Different options serve different outcomes. Begin by naming what you want to change first—calmer bedtimes, easier school transitions, confidence for a particular child, or a room‑wide wellbeing boost.

The options at a glance

Programme Overview
Programme Ages Format Best for
ELC 2–5 20–35 mins, story‑led Room routines, early self‑regulation
Primary/OSHC P–6 45–60 mins, banded Attention, transitions, class climate
Private 1 child / siblings 45–60 mins Personal goals; quiet start

(Tables use short entries only; see programme pages for details.)

Option 1: ELC (Early Learning & Childcare)

For kindergartens and childcare rooms, sessions are short, friendly and filled with story prompts. Outcomes include calmer bodies before rest time, shared language for feelings and simple breath tools educators can cue during the week. Directors appreciate the clear mapping to EYLF outcomes and the educator reinforcement card.

Choose ELC if: you want wellbeing woven into everyday routines and a common language across rooms.

Option 2: Primary Schools & OSHC

In primary settings, programmes support HPE V9 with self‑management, movement competence and personal/social capability. Teachers receive simple routines they can run in 20–60 seconds. Incursion days are great for exposure; term blocks turn routines into culture.

Choose School/OSHC if: you want attention, smoother transitions and a calmer class climate.

Option 3: Private Sessions (1:1 or siblings)

For children who prefer a quiet start or have specific goals, a private gives space to personalise. We agree on aims (e.g., bedtime wind‑downs, homework focus, confidence), then create a short home routine that fits family life. Sibling sessions encourage kindness and teamwork.

Choose Private if: your child needs extra confidence, or you value flexible scheduling and tailored tools.

How to decide: four quick questions

  1. Where do you want the calm? Home routines, room routines or classroom transitions?

  2. What attention span are you working with? Shorter for ages 2–4; longer for 9–12.

  3. What schedule fits? Park classes are flexible; schools/ELCs book by day; privates set a regular slot.

  4. What budget fits? Park passes are affordable; incursions scale by rooms/sessions; privates are focused and tailored.
